Welcome to this annual press conference. We had a pretty decent season. Right at the start of the season we saw ourselves climb to 3rd division and claimed wins there with Tijmen Van Lieshout. We had six different riders bringing money to the team and improved the…
//// Sorry Radics, but are we talking about the same team? You’re the PR Manager of Silenzio, right??
Eh… well yesss of course. What do you mean?
//// The latest result of the team has been Berliner G3, but there have been 70 days now without a single result! What the hell have you guys been doing?
Ah, well yeah, about that... It’s all strategy. Of course, we hoped to do better in Perm Tour with Driscoll Tiernan, his legs were good, but he struggled with multiple issues in the first stage and got injured while in top form! When he returned, he wasn’t in best of shapes, but he managed to achieve some top 9 results. In the meantime, it was time for our other riders to take a break, recharge and get ready for a new run of races: Tijmen Van Lieshout and George Neacsu could not captain the team during that time.
//// Bull shit! Recharging for over 70 days??? We haven’t seen results after Berliner G3!
Okay, no podiums, but let me stress that we were quite happy with 5th and 6th places. It enabled us to score a relative good amount of prize money and earn less points, which will see us back in lower divisions where we can win again.
//// Good amount of prize money?? You aimed for 150k at start of the season, as you did in season 54. Where are you at now?
… Ehm, let me check… well, it appears to be… ehm, maybe we missed some or so, we are at least at $99.500. So ehm, almost there. We still have a couple of days till seasons end.
//// Almost there? I’m sorry, but that’s barely more than Comfius earns in one week. Anyhow… now we are speaking of the teams economy already… What the hell were you guys doing with Stepan Grechko. How long has he been on the team? Could have been one of your highest AV-riders, but instead you sell after spending some time training him?
It’s… you know, sometimes it doesn’t fit. We didn’t have the right equipment for him yet. No one else in the team did speak Russian, he felt lonely… We dearly hope he has a better time at Snooman
//// So why did you hire in the first place? Sounds like things you could have known!
Yes, you know… Everybody makes mistakes. But… if he had maxed a bit higher…
//// Are you running this team purely based on wishful thinking and speculation, hmmm?
Well, ehm… sorry, NO! As I said, we had a pretty decent season. What I was about to say is that we successfully made the squad a bit younger by hiring two very decent partly-trained sprinters, that could become captains for the team. I’m talking about Nordin Moerenhout, a very decent SARS, who is not yet maxed on his side stats, and Denny Dominguez, another SARS with 3x good and FR-average-talent. He is already as good as George Neacsu is now, and still improving.
//// Well yes, that’s two okay signings. But how about all those others? By the looks of it your main goal this season was to bring Team Spirit down as low as 40% or something. Christian Kuptana, Dorian Val, Mark Tomko, Hashiratani Naboru, Quentin Fay, Christer Hellström. That’s, including Grechko and the two real talents nine new signings in just one season.
Although I understand that you guys are critical, not everything is as it seems. We did not have the liquidity to hire Moerenhout right away, so we had to sell some of our riders, including our jobbers. When we did, we had some injury woes and we had trouble to race with two teams and have riders available to do jobs. Some managers would prefer one very strong train, but The Erwinator felt he had multiple riders to score points in the 3rd-5th division and wanted enough riders for support and jobs. So we hired two old hill helpers, two old leadout-guys and two jobbers.
//// The fans miss Gunnþór Jacksson, Artur Alexander, Lynn Bastian, Barclay Hughley and Alberto Carreira… they helped the team win. This new bunch of losers and grandpa’s… well, don’t get me started on them. Ironic by the way that the former talent Haithem Mohammaden that wasn’t good enough for Silenzio and was sold for next to nothing, managed to beat you and win Rio Gallegos GP. You guys ended only 6th.
With respect to Mohamedan, we can only be happy for him that he managed to win something and that he found a team that suits him well. In a way, we miss the old guys too, yes. But: We are a young team still, remember… you can’t win a jersey every season.
//// Glad you bring it up… Did you even try to win something?
As I said we were unlucky in the 3rd division-tour in Russia. And because Tijmen scored a lot of points during the end of last season and the start of this season we stayed in division 3 for too long to achieve our other goal: participating with Tijmen Van Lieshout in TF in two D4-classics, namely Orel-Kursk Classic and Baltimore Invitational. Also, we hoped to score with Twan Fokkens, but we were stuck in the 3rd division, which made us utter chanceless to the topdivision youth. We gave up on that.
//// Well, that is one lame excuse. How about your prospects for the new season?
We will start using the TF of Nordin Moerenhout, Twan Fokkens and George Neacsu. For the Romanian, we hope to participate in Classico di Siracusa. With these both riders we hope to score enough points to find our way back into Division 3. Depending on how fast we can get there we will aim for the SC in Norway or Perm with Tijmen Van Lieshout. And if we don’t manage to get in division 3, we will be probably in D4. If so, we will target the SC-jersey in Race of the Minutemen with Tijmen Van Lieshoutand the YC in Giro di Sicilia with a recharged and fully trained and centered Nordin Moerenhout. We aim to use Denny Dominguez in Baltimore Invitational and Driscoll Tiernan in Orel-Kursk Classic. Let’s hope that will bring us a new trophy or jersey. One would make the season a huge success already.
//// Huge success for a young team… one trophy?? TeamTVM is aiming much higher than you are.
Yes, you are right. We are in no place to compare ourselves to teams that are much further at current.
//// You are nowhere in the top10 of the 2020-managers.
Correct
////It’s pathetic.
Yes it is.
Is this over now?
//// One more thing. Your current manager The Erwinator seems to spend more time running the National Team of Hungary than his own team. Is he the right one for the job still?
The Erwinator has done a great job with the National Team of Hungary, and has done all he could to bring the team to a next level. He continues to bring his experience of the NT into the team, and this can be very good?
//// Is it true he will attempt to sign more Hungarians to strengthen the team?
I won’t disclose any information about future transfers and we are happy with the current squad.
//// Coward!

Radics Nandor out.

Some naked facts
Hiring staff
It was a race versus the clock to bring Tiernan in TF in Perm and we needed a RE-doctor to achieve that. Barsi Gabor was hired.
Radics Nandor came over as our PR manager. He is still learning.

Good to see critical press is still allowed in Hungary :)
With some luck, season 56 could be a very good one for you, Erwin! Thanks for paving the way together with Phil ;)
Thanks guys, and please pave the way Phil :)
It was a tough session for Radics, and it means a lot for him to read the support of the community!
Nice review. Impressive what you did so far as a relatively new team!
Great post! Good luck next season!
Cool write-up, keep it up!
As for sigining Hungarians, I'm all for that. Can't have a Hungarian team without any locals, I understand the annoyed press ;)
Very enjoyable reading :) If I stay ahead of you I may be your WB or climbing divisions ;)
A transition season I would say, with a real blow in the middle (Tiernan's injury while in TF).
Your plans for next season seem excellent, especially with a few nice jerseys to target !
And congrats for being the Rookie of the year with Hungary NT !!
That is some critical press there in Hungary!
Nice write up.
